Coming to Liège

By plane

litMT bruxelles

Closest airports are Brussels-Zaventem (with an easy train connection to Liège), and Brussels-Charleroi (which is located not at all in Brussels but in Charleroi). The journey from this second airport is a bit longer, and requires you to take a shuttle to reach the train station.

Any supplement or shuttle transport should be covered by the train ticket if you select one of the airport directly as your departure or destination point.

By train

litMT liege guillemins

The main station is Liège-Guillemins. You can buy tickets in advance or at one of the terminal located in every station/airport.

From the main station, you can take a connecting train to Liège-Saint-Lambert, which will take you directly to the city center, or a bus, at one of the platforms right in front of the station.

People below 26 should opt for the Go Pass 1 ticket, which is capped at a low price regardless of the destination.

By bus

The conference venue is close to the city center, but people taking the bus should stop at Place Delcour. From the Guillemins station, you can take the line 4 on platform B.

To go from the station to the city center, you can take the line 1 on platform A, as well as the lines 25 and 48, and stop at Pont d'Avroy or Opéra.

You can buy tickets with cash directly on the bus.

By car

Altough car users might have to put up with the early and late traffic jams, Liège is easily accessible by car, as it is at the crossroad of the E25, E40, E42 and E313 highways.

Most of the neighbourhood is a free parking zone, but keep in mind that some of the places are resident-only areas and that it can be difficult to find a place due to this free zone being the closest to the city center.

By boat

Who knows, you might be coming though one of the many barges that cruise along the Meuse or staying in the city marina.

In a more likely scenario, there is also a river shuttle that can take you along the river, with stops close to the Guillemins railway station, the conference venue, and the city center.
