Members of the CIRTI, Magali Claeskens, Marie Jadot, and Maud Gonne, Pierre Geron, as well as our students, will participate in the Tiny Translators’ House event on the 8 of May. Professional and amateur translators, as well as French and Dutch speaking writers, will gather to translate poems by Zindzi Tillot Owusu, Sarah de Koning, and Anne Marijn Voorhost into French. Said translations will appear in an anthology of texts – originals or translated – which will be published in Boustro magazine. The chance to turn the Studio Low Tech into the Tiny Translators’ House!

This event is the result of a collaboration with Charlyne Audine (Comptoir du livre), Mathijs Tratsaert and Ewoud Goethals (Flemish Review de la Poëzie), and Pascal Leclercq (Boustro magazine). It is a preface to the Fugueurs du Livre fair, which will be held on the 7 and 8 of November 2026 at the B3 building.

First, B3, M1, and M2 students will participate in a translation workshop. Each group will translate a different poet. They will be accompanied by professional translators, notably Kim Andringa, lecturer at the Sorbonne University.

They will then have the opportunity to talk with French and Dutch speaking authors, namely Alexis Alvarez, Pascal Leclercq, and Erik Spinoy. The students will receive suggestions for the finishing touches.

The day will end with a comparative reading session of the French and Dutch versions of the poems.
